When is Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) Not an Option?

If you have an auto accident in Chicagoland it may leave your vehicle with ugly dents and dings that are unacceptable to you. As long as the paint is not chipped or cracked, then PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) may well be the right option for your situation. But when is PDR not an option?

Here are some circumstances when PDR is not the right choice -

1.  There is torn metal in the dent.

2.  The paint inside the dent is scratched.

3.  If the dent is near the end of the panel, it probably is not the answer.

4.  Was there previous bodywork done in that area?

Arrow Body has been the correct choice for auto body repair work in Chicagoland for more than seven decades. Their professionals must be doing something right! If you have auto body damage, call this number (708) 456-9424. You can see their remarkable history at arrowbodyandfender.com.

Take Andy and Barbara’s Word for It.

Huh?  Who are Andy and Barbara?  They are just two of the many people whose testimonials you can read on arrowbodyandfender.com.  This website holds the truths and history of what this family-owned auto body repair business has done for thousands of Chicagoans for many, many decades.  Here are some excerpts.

Here is what John said…"I can’t thank you enough for what you did…You did an incredible job."  Diana exclaimed…"The entire experience was friendly and helpful from start to finish."  Rose had this to say…"My husband, Bob, had a lot of respect for your family and business.  I now know why."

Our late founder, Joe Bellocchio Sr., would not have had it any other way.  In 1948, Big Joe (as he was known) struck out on his own and opened Arrow Body and Fender Service on Maplewood and Fullerton in Chicago.  Today we are located at 7536 W. Grand Ave. Elmwood Park serving Chicagoland with the finest auto body repair service available.  Please call (708) 456-9424.

OEM vs. Aftermarket…That is the Question.

When an accident sidelines your vehicle, which parts should be used to return it to like-new condition?  We will always recommend original equipment, but we understand that budget restraints don’t always make that practical.  You need to make a financially responsible decision AND think about the future of your vehicle all at the same time!

Here are a couple of things to remember –

1.  If the parts to be used in the repair are supplied from the original equipment manufacturer, a warranty must be included that guarantees the customer that the parts meet or exceed manufacturing standards.

2.  The use of a motor vehicle crash part NOT made by the original equipment manufacturer may invalidate any remaining warranties of the original equipment manufacturer on that motor vehicle part.

We want you to make the right decision for your budget and your family.  We are here to help with that as well as look for the best aftermarket parts available if that is your decision.  We are Arrow Body and Fender of Elmwood Park.  We have been getting cars back on the roads of Chicagoland since your grandfather’s Edsel.  Call us at (708) 456-9424.

Stop…Don’t Leave the Auto Body Shop Without a Checklist!

Nobody is perfect and here at Arrow Body and Fender we want you to have a checklist when you exit any auto body repair shop.  These are things such as checking the repair area close-up and from a distance.  Examine the paint for color matching.  Take a test drive.  Make sure that your vehicle is clean, etc.

Some of the pitfalls of auto body shops in Chicagoland are

1.  Poor alignment
2.  Clipping…an entire part has been taken from another car and welded to yours
3.  Was the airbag replaced if need be?
4.  What kind of parts were used?
5.  Torqued to manufacturers specifications.

We want you to know that Arrow Body and Fender of Elmwood Park checks all of these points and many more when repairing your “baby”.  We know that you want to take it back on the roadways of Chicagoland and drive it with pride.  Arrow Body and Fender has been proud to serve our area for seven decades.  If you need us, our phone number is (708) 456-9424.

I’ve Been Framed.

This is not a courtroom scene…it’s your vehicle speaking loudly after it has been repaired at an auto body shop.  Frame damage occurs when your vehicle has been struck at a critical part of its structure. We all hope that we never have to deal with major damage, the potential for fender-benders, accidents, and the need for repairs are just a part of owning a car.

Think of a car frame as your vehicle’s core foundation.  Apart from the fact that it’s an integral part of your car, it also serves purposes you might not have thought about, such as keeping doors aligned when they’re closed, supporting the motor and bumpers, and providing a strong steel base off which to build everything else that makes up your vehicle.

You may not give your car’s frame a 2nd thought, but we sure do!  We are one of Chicagoland’s premier auto body shops…Arrow Body and Fender.  It has been our great pleasure to have served Elmwood Park and the surrounding area for over seven decades.  We are ready for a brand new year at Arrow Body and Fender 7536 West Grand Ave. in Elmwood Park.

Danger…Black Ice May Crop up Anywhere.

We Chicagoans know that winter driving does not just include snow, but the ice on the roadways may be an even more hazardous factor.  Particularly dangerous is “black ice” which is a bit of a misnomer because it is mostly invisible.  If you understand it better, you can learn to negotiate our roads more safely.

Here are some things you should know –

1.  Black ice is caused by light freezing rain or melting snow.
2.  It forms late at night or early in the morning when the temperature is at its lowest.
3.  Watch for it on bridges and overpasses.
4.  Look for it ahead if there is enough light.
5.  Practice driving on it in a safe environment such as an empty parking lot.

Winter driving around Chicagoland is challenging enough and we hope this will help in your quest to get from point A to point B safely.  Your friends at Arrow Body and Fender located at 7536 West Grand Ave. in Elmwood Park will be here if you need us as we have been for generations.  In the New Year keep your vision 2020 on the roadway.

Look at your Car! Who Made it Look like that Again?

It is something that you would long to hear after a necessary visit to an auto body shop.  When someone who knows you has seen your vehicle after an accident and then sees it again after the repairs have been done says that it’s a home run (like Chris Bryant in the bottom of the 9th)!  You burst with pride because you made the best decision when hiring the right body shop.

From the get-go the founder of Arrow Body and Repair, Joe Bellacchio Sr. insisted on having the best equipment combined with the very best techs to return every vehicle they see in their shop to as close to like-new as possible.  In 2019 and beyond they pledge that they will always continue to do so.

You should expect no less than that from an someone who has been repairing cars since the Edsel and the Studebaker ruled the road.  Chicagoland counts on Arrow Body and Fender to get them back on the highways and byways of Greater Chicago after an accident.  They are located at 7536 W. Grand Ave. in Elmwood Park.  Call ahead at (708) 456-9424.

Autobody Repair…Step by Step.

A car collision can leave your car dented, scratched, and probably in need of auto body repair. When you arrive at our auto body shop in Chicagoland one of our technicians will carefully evaluate the location and cause of your body damage.  They will need to determine which repair method will be most effective for restoring your vehicle.

Here are the three most common types of body repair –

1.  Paintless dent repair which is revolutionary in our business.
2.  Auto body filler…for the more serious problems.
3.  Bumper replacement when your front or back bumpers get crumpled.

Oh, we may have forgotten part of this equation.  That is the intense pride that comes with repairing vehicles throughout Chicagoland for more than seven decades!  That’s right, Arrow Body and Fender has been around since the late 40’s and most of that time Chicagoans have found us at 7536 W. Grand Ave. in Elmwood Park.  Call us at (708) 456-9424.

Are you Interested in Auto Body Repair as a Profession?

It is not just a noble profession, but an essential one as well.  Putting a vehicle back on the road in like-new condition is very rewarding!  Many people think that they may be able to do it at the highest level, but few are chosen.  How much do you know about the inner-workings of auto body repair?

Here is some of the equipment that you would be using –

1.  An air compressor…one that handles a big workload.
2.  A spray gun…for painting, of course.

3.  Dual-action sander…one of the most essential tools for the job.
4.  A good auto body hammer as well as a dolly set.

There are more tools of the trade, of course.  The question is, do you have what it takes to be one of the best auto body repair artists in Chicagoland?  Maybe your future will be at Arrow Body and Fender located at 7526 W. Grand Avenue in Elmwood Park.  They have been repairing cars in Chicagoland for more than 70 years.  Call them at (708) 456-9424.
